PreAP Day 1 Homework: Skim Chapter 1. Read and take notes on pages 40-59 - reading quiz next class8/26/2013 It would be best to to get your book ASAP. Until you get your book you can use the online textbook to read the assignment. Go to: http://my.hrw.com/ your username is ssnap and your password is j9t4s
See the onlevel post below for instructions on taking reading notes using Cornell notes. Be prepared to answer questions over the general topics of these sections as well as any vocab you may find in them. On-level Physics Day 1: Read pages 10-16 in your book. Be able to answer questions on page 248/26/2013 In order to establish norms, students will read and take reading notes on p. 10-16 in text book. Expect a short quiz with questions similar to those found on p. 25 (1-14) If you are unable to procure a book, here are digital copies of those exact pages, even if the numbers are different: http://tinyurl.com/l23cdun *Take your notes in your composition notebook if you already have one. If not, take the notes on a separate paper to be added to your comp book later. Tips for reading:
Title: Where it says Title you will come up with a title (hint look through the section headings for hints). You will also include learning targets here (often I will give you these but this time I want to see what you come up with after having looked at the heading titles). Answers: Next, your main notes will be written in the area labeled "answers" (since this is where you will find answers to your questions). Be sure to record and underline any definitions (including variables and units). You will also want to make note of any laws, theories or examples given in the reading. This area should also include pictures and diagrams. Questions: In the "questions" section you will record equations (the variables should be defined and explained in your notes) as well as any cues for yourself or questions you may have for me. Summary: You can do summaries for each section. Whether or not you do that you must have a summary at the end. This blog is for all of my physics classes. I will tag posts as to whether they are targeted at my on-level classes or my PreAP classes. I will post important announcements here as well as useful links and videos for class.
